Announcement regarding termination of the CDMA 1X WIN service

As of March 2022, the CDMA 1X WIN service for au 3G mobile phones will end. Customers who are subscribed to the rate plans for 3G mobile phones, smartphones, data communication devices, and other devices listed on this page may continue to use their device until this service ends. However, after the service ends, you will need to change a model that supports 4G LTE.

  • * This is a rate plan exclusively for the Simple Course and cannot be used with 4G LTE  smartphones or prepaid services.
  • [1]2-year contract is offered on the basis of a two-year contract. In the case of contract termination , temporary suspension or discontinuation of 2-year contract during the contract period, a contract cancellation fee of ¥9,500 is incurred (excluding the renewal period) regardless of how many years you have subscribed to 2-year contract. The two-year contract period will be renewed automatically unless you request termination.

  • [2]For calls that straddle the 1:00 or 21:00 time designations, charges are waived for the time segment straddling a time designation (30 seconds). Calls to special numbers including the Answering Service (Voice Mail) (1417) do not count as free calls to au mobile phone users.

Notes on rate plan changes

  • Change of a rate plan usually takes effect on the month subsequent to the month in which such a request is made. However, if you apply on the last two days of a month (especially, after 8:00 PM), the change may take effect two months later (Charges for changes are free).

Notes on basic charges

  • If you sign up for a service, or cancel the contract partway through the month, the basic charges (including the free call allowance in the case of rate plans with the free call allowance) are calculated on a prorated basis.If you are subscribed to 2-year contract and cancel Plan Z Simple, calculation on a prorated basis is not applied and the flat rate is incurred.

Notes on calling charges

  • "Plan Z Simple" "Plan E" and "Plan E Simple" do not include the free call allowance.
  • When making a call to your contracted au phone, the caller will be charged based on calling charges specified by the caller's carrier.
  • au rate plans are not applicable to charges of international calls (KDDI/SoftBank/NTT Communications/ARTERIA Networks/Brastel/IPS). International calls are separately charged by international call carriers based calling charges specified by each carrier. The length of free calls included in plans with free call allowance indicates the maximum time, and differ depending on actual usage circumstances.
  • A call that continues beyond midnight will be charged for the day on which the call ends.
