Notes:

  • Ponta points can be charged only once per month (maximum ¥20,000(non-taxable))
  • To proceed, you will need an au mobile phone, an au ID with which your au HIKARI/au HIKARI Chura subscription is registered, or an au ID linked to your au Jibun Bank account or an au ID with identity verification completed on the au PAY app. If user registration is currently being used, the card is issued in the name of the contract holder.
  • The card may not be accepted for payment by all stores or services (such as for au and other communication fees, utilities, gasoline (with some exceptions), highway toll, etc.)
  • Cash cannot be used to make a payment.
  • Only lump payments are accepted. Note that installment payments are not available.
  • Payments of ¥10 or less may not be accepted.
  • A 4% service charge will be added for overseas card use.
  • Cannot be used for purchases in foreign currencies of "1" unit or less (ex.: 1 US dollar, 1 euro, 1 rupiah, etc.).
  • Points are added at a later date (up to two months later).

  2. Some services may not earn points.
  3. Charges made to the payment services of other companies (including charges via Apple Pay and Google Pay), "Mobile Suica," "Mobile PASMO," "nanaco," "WAON," "Revolut," "B/43," and "Mobile ICOCA" are ineligible for earning points. ("Mobile PASMO," "nanaco," "WAON," and "Revolut": applied based on the usage from November 1, 2022, "B/43": applied based on the usage from March 13, 2023.)
  4. The Ponta point earning conditions vary by contract rate plan. Ponta points are earned based on the monthly charges per line. Basic charges and calling charges, etc. are eligible for earning Ponta points. Consumption taxes, commission charges, use charges for au Simple Payment, fixed-line communication network service charges (providers other than au net one), and device rental are ineligible for earning Ponta points. Rate plans for au 5G, 4G LTE rate plans offered from July 14, 2017 (excluding Super Kakeho (V/a), Number Share plans, WiMAX 2+ Flat for DATA (L), WiMAX 2+ Flat for DATA EX (L), and WiMAX 2+ Flat for HOME (L)), are all ineligible for earning Ponta points.

How to activate your au PAY Prepaid Card

After receiving your au PAY Prepaid Card, press the “Get Started” button to activate service.

[Application conditions]

  • Customers with an individual contract for an au mobile phone (smartphone, tablet, mobile phone, Wi-Fi router, etc.), au HIKARI, or au HIKARI Chura

    An "au ID" linked to the contract is required.

    • Business contractors and customers under prepaid or MVNO contract cannot apply for this card.
    • If a customer is currently using the user registration, the card is issued in the name of the contract holder.
  • Customers not listed above

    An "au ID" with a registered (linked) au Jibun Bank account is required.

  1. When applying at the same time as a new contract or model change -> au Style / au shop, au distributor, or UQ Spot
  2. When applying for the "au PAY Prepaid Card" only -> au PAY app, au PAY site, customer center, au Style / au shop, au distributor, or UQ Spot

[Precautions]

  • The card will be shipped at a later date after the card application is complete.
  • The card has an expiration date. The expiration date is listed on the front side of the card.
  • The au PAY Prepaid Card is not a credit card.
  • The card balance cannot be refunded.
  • You can select whether to have an au PAY Prepaid Card issued. If you choose not to have a card issued, card-based payment and Apple Pay, etc. cannot be used.
