【au Email Portability】How to Apply for au Email Portability and Set Up the Email App (Android)

STEP1: Application for the service

【au Email Portability】I would like to know how to apply

You can apply via the au Email Portability webpage.

Please check the following for the application procedure.

Important notes

  • When you apply for au Email Portability service, all spam email filter settings will be reset. Please set it again after completing your application.
  • Applications must be submitted within 31 days from the day after the cancellation date of your au contract. (After canceling your au contract, emails sent before completing your application for this service will not be received by the server. Email sending and receiving will resume after completing your application for this service.)
  • You cannot use the email address change feature that was provided at the time of your au contract. Some other functions that were provided under the au contract are also unavailable.

Steps

    Access the au Email Portability application page on the device you will use to apply for au Email Portability.

    Tap on "New Application" [新規お申し込み].

  • 3

    Enter the au ID of the email address you wish to apply for and tap on "Next" [次へ].

    If this screen does not appear, proceed to step 5.

    • If you are connected to Wi-Fi when logging in with your au ID, you may need to complete the "two-step verification process" [2段階認証].

    Enter your password and tap on "Log In" [ログイン].

    Enter the email address you want to set as your au ID and tap on "Change your au ID (agree and send a verification code)" [au IDを変更する(同意し確認コードを送信)].

    • Please set an email address other than au email (@au.com/@ezweb.ne.jp).

    Enter the "Verification code" [確認コード] sent from "auto@connect.auone.jp" and tap on "Next" [次へ].

    Tap on "Change your au ID and Next" [au IDを変更して次へ].

  • 8

    If this screen appears, select the email address you want to apply for au Email Portability and tap on "Next" [次へ].

    • If this screen does not appear, proceed to Step 9.
  • 9

    Review the Terms and Conditions, tap on "I agree to the Terms and Conditions" [利用規約に同意する] switch to check it, and then tap on "Apply for au Email Portability" [auメール持ち運びに申し込む].

    Next, set the payment with "au PAY (au Easy Payment)" [au PAY(auかんたん決済)]. Proceed to the step in STEP 2 that matches your situation.

STEP2: Setting up au PAY (au Easy Payment) (currently using UQ mobile or povo 2.0)

【au Email Portability】I would like to pay the service fee using au PAY (au Easy Payment) (currently using UQ mobile or povo2.0)

After applying for au Email Portability, you can use the verification code received via text message (SMS) to set up the payment with au PAY (au Easy Payment).

Steps

    Tap on "Agree" [同意する].

    • This screen will only appear when you use it for the first time.
  • 2

    Tap to open the received [SMS].

  • 3

    Check the verification code and return to the Service Usage Confirmation page.

  • 4

    Enter the verification code and tap on "Register" [登録する].

    The application for au Email Portability is now complete.

    Please proceed to STEP 3.

For your reference

  • If you are a UQ mobile/povo2.0 customer, you can choose to pay it combined with the mobile monthly bill, by credit card, or by au PAY card.

STEP2: Setting up au PAY (au Easy Payment) (currently using another carrier)

To set the au PAY (au Easy Payment), please register your customer information after following the application steps for the au Email Portability service.

For details, please refer to the information below.

Steps

    Tap on "Agree" [同意する].

    • This screen will only appear when you use it for the first time.

    Enter the customer information and tap on "Set" [設定する].

    • Please register a contact email address other than au email address (@au.com / @ezweb.ne.jp).

    Tap on "Set" [設定する].

  • 4

    Enter the verification code you received and tap on "Set" [設定する].

  • 5

    Tap on "Next" [次へ].

    • If the two-step verification settings screen appears, tap on "Set up two-step verification" [2段階認証を設定する] → tap on "Set" [設定] → tap on [OK].

    Enter your credit card number and the security code, and tap on "Register" [登録する].

    The application for au Email Portability is now complete.

    Please proceed to STEP 3.

STEP2: Setting up au PAY (au Easy Payment) (without a phone line contract)

To set the au PAY (au Easy Payment), please register your customer information after following the application steps for the au Email Portability service.

    Tap on "Agree" [同意する].

    • This screen will only appear when you use it for the first time.

    Enter the customer information and tap on "Set" [設定する].

    • Please register a contact email address other than au email address (@au.com / @ezweb.ne.jp).

    Tap on "Set" [設定する].

    Enter the verification code you received and tap on "Set" [設定する].

  • 5

    Tap on "Next" [次へ]

    • If you are taken to the two-step verification settings screen, tap on "Set up two-step verification" [2段階認証を設定する] → tap on "Set" [設定] → tap on [OK].

    Enter your credit card number and the security code, and tap on "Register" [登録する].

    The application for au Email Portability is now complete.

    Please proceed to STEP 3.

STEP3: How to set up the au Email App

Install the au Email App and complete the setup.

Please refer to the following for the setup instructions.

Steps

    The application for au Email Portability was completed in Step 2.

    Next, proceed with the au Email App setup. Tap on "Android au Email App" [Android auメールアプリ].

    To set again the au Email App, log in to your au Email Portability My Page, tap on "Email App Settings" [メールアプリの設定] and then tap on "Android au Email App" [Android auメールアプリ].

    Tap on "Go to au Market or Google Play" [au MarketまたはGoogle Playに遷移する].

    • If your Chrome version is the latest, tap on "Install or Update the au Email App Here" [auメールアプリのインストールまたはアップデートはこちら].

    Tap on "Open" [開く].

    • If the au Email App is not installed, it may display "Pending" or "Installing".
    • If it is installed but not the latest version, it will display "Update". In either case, "Open" will eventually be displayed.
    • If you are using the au Email App for the first time on a new device, or using a different carrier's SIM or device, tap on Install and complete the initial setup.

    Tap on "Use au Email Portability" [auメール持ち運び利用する].

    • If the au Email App screen appears, tap on "Menu icon (three lines)" [メニューアイコン (三本線) ] in the top left corner → tap on "au Email Portability" [auメール持ち運び].

    Tap on "For those who have already applied for the service" [サービス申し込み済みの方はこちら].

    Enter your au ID and tap on "Next" [次へ].

    Enter your password and tap on "Log In" [ログイン].

    Tap on "Do not change au ID (agree to the terms)" [au IDを変更しない (規約に同意する) ].

    Tap on "Log in without changing au ID" [au IDを変更せずにログインする].

  • 10

    If this screen appears, select the "Email address you want to set up" [設定するメールアドレス].

    • This screen appears if you have multiple email addresses registered for au Email Portability.

    If this screen does not appear, proceed to step 12.

    Tap on "Next" [次へ進む].

    Tap on "Set up the au Email App" [auメールアプリを設定する].

  • 13

    Tap on "Next" [次へ].

  • 14

     Tap on either "au Email or Data Transfer" [au メールまたはデータお引っ越し] or "Data Storage" [データお預かり].

    Tap on "Start Using au Email" [au メールを使い始める].

  • 16

    You will be returned to the top screen of the au Email App.

    The operation is now complete.
