Can I change the name on a mobile phone contract from a parent to their child?
If your child is in junior high school or older, you can change the contract holder’s name. The name change (transfer) procedure can be completed at an au shop or au Style.
If your child is in elementary school or younger, the contract cannot be changed to their name.
No fee is charged for transfers between family members.
Important note
- In the transfer procedure, some services may not be carried over.
How to apply

Both the guardian with parental authority (transferor) and the child (transferee) must visit an au Style/au shop together.
- If the transferor is unable to visit the store, please bring the transferor's power of attorney and their identity verification document (copy allowed).

- If you have merged your au IDs, the au ID will be automatically separated, and a new au ID will be issued to the transferee.
- Paid content that was applied for or contracted by the transferor must be canceled by the transferor personally.
- The au PAY Card, au PAY Prepaid Card, and au PAY balance currently used by the transferor will not be transferred.
- The usage limit for au Easy Payment will not be carried over.
