Yes, once you receive your au PAY prepaid card, you will need to activate it on the au PAY site.
You can use the card after completing the activation procedure.

Important notes
- If your card is reissued due to expiration date renewal or loss or theft, your au PAY balance will be transferred to the new card when you complete the activation procedure.
- If you have a card that has expired, after the activation of your new card, cut it up with scissors and discard it.
