【au PAY】I would like to know the causes of errors displayed during the charging process

If the specified amount exceeds the charging limit or due to the status of your credit card usage, an error may be displayed.

For details about each error, check below.

How to check the error code

The error code is a five-digit code starting with "ER" that appears at the end of the error message.

  • This is an example of an error screen.

Error Code: ER305

Cause

  • The credit card you entered is not eligible for charging to the au PAY balance.

Solution

Error Code: ER310

Cause

  • The total monthly charge amount using the credit card exceeds the limit, so you cannot charge the specified amount.

Solution

  • Please charge within the monthly charge limit or try using a method other than a credit card.

Charge limit per transaction/per month

  • For au PAY Card

    Charge range: from 1,000 yen to 50,000 yen (in 1-yen increments) per transaction, up to a total of 300,000 yen per month

  • For credit cards other than au PAY Card

    Charge range: from 1,000 yen to 50,000 yen (in 1-yen increments) per transaction, up to a total of 50,000 yen per month

  • The maximum limit is up to a total of 300,000 yen per month when using both au PAY Card and other credit cards.

Error Code: ER321

Cause

  • The credit card you entered could not confirm the registration information for the identity authentication service (3D Secure 2.0).

Solution

  • Please register for the identity authentication service (3D Secure 2.0) on your credit card company's website.

     If you have already registered for the identity authentication service (3D Secure 2.0) and are still unable to use it, please contact your credit card issuer to confirm your registered information.

  • Customers who have already registered for the identity authentication service (3D Secure) must also register for the identity authentication service (3D Secure 2.0).

Error Code: ER323

Cause

  • Your credit card cannot be used due to restrictions imposed by the credit card company, such as limits on amounts or frequency.

Solution

  • Please contact your credit card company for details.

Error Code: ER325

Cause

  • You cannot register the credit card because you have exceeded the permitted number of registrations.

Solution

  • We apologize for the inconvenience, but please wait a while and try again.

Error Code: ER326

Cause

  • You cannot register a credit card as multiple charging methods for au PAY.

Solution

  • Please delete the credit card information registered with another au PAY account (au ID) and register again.

Error Code: ER327

Cause

  • The credit card you entered does not support the identity authentication service (3D Secure 2.0).

Solution

  • Please check the usage conditions and register a credit card that supports the identity authentication service (3D Secure 2.0).

    If you have already registered for the identity authentication service (3D Secure 2.0), you may temporarily be unable to use your credit card. 

    We apologize for the inconvenience, but please wait a while and try again.

  • Even if you have already registered for the identity authentication service (3D Secure), you will need to register for the identity authentication service (3D Secure 2.0).

Error Code: ER505

Cause

  • There may be a problem with your credit card usage, or with the settings and usage of au PAY (au Easy Payment).

Solution

Error Code: ER868

Cause

  • An error has occurred during processing via your bank account.

Solution

  • Please wait for a while and try the operation again.
  • Check with your financial institution to ensure there are no issues such as system maintenance or insufficient balance.
  • All of the indicated amounts exclude tax unless otherwise specified.
