I would like to know how to register a new au ID and password(Android)

You can register a new au ID and password using the My au app.

For details, see below.

Important notes

  • Please turn off the Wi-Fi function before proceeding with these steps.
  • These steps are intended for Android devices.
  • In the initial setup, your au mobile phone number will be set as your au ID.
  • This page uses images from My au to explain, but the same operations can be performed on My UQ mobile.

Steps

  • 1

    Launch the My au app.

  • 2

    Tap on "Log in with au ID" [au IDでログインする].

  • 3

    Tap on "Allow" [許可].

  • 4

    Tap on "Register a new au ID" [au IDを新規登録する].

  • 5

    Enter your mobile phone number and tap on "Next" [次へ].

  • 6

    Enter the 4-digit PIN you set during your contract and tap on "Next" [次へ].

  • 7

    Enter your desired password and tap on "Agree and Set" [同意して設置する].

    • For UQ mobile customers, the email registration screen will be displayed next, so please follow the instructions on the screen to complete the registration.
  • 8

    Tap on "Next" [次へ].

    If this screen does not appear, proceed to step 11.

    • If the screen does not progress, it may be due to Face ID or similar features not being set up.
    • By registering biometric authentication (fingerprint or facial recognition) or setting up screen locks such as number or pattern authentication, you will be able to proceed to the next screen.

    Perform biometric authentication.

    Tap on "Next" [次へ].

  • 11

    Tap on "Agree to Use Information" [情報利用に同意する].

    Tap on "Return to the Services in Use" [利用中のサービスにもどる].

    Several screens will appear, including for reviewing the Terms and Conditions and Confirmation of the Agreement.

    Please check the displayed information, scroll down and tap on the "Agree" [同意する] button at the bottom to proceed to the next screen.

    Tap on either "While Using the App" [アプリの使用時のみ], "Only Once" [今回限り], or "Do Not Allow" [許可しない] in the Location Permission dialog.

    • Regardless of which option you choose on this screen, you will be prompted to select again and confirm in the following screens.
    • If this screen does not appear, proceed to the next step.

    A dialog will appear stating, "Please set the app's location permission to 'Always Allow' on the next screen." [次の画面で、アプリの位置情報の権限を [常に許可] にしてください。], then tap on [OK].

    • If this screen does not appear, proceed to the next step.

    The settings screen will open. Tap on "Always Allow" [常に許可].

    • If this screen does not appear, proceed to the next step.

    Confirm that "Always Allow" [常に許可] is checked and tap on the [←] arrow in the upper left corner.

    • If this screen does not appear, proceed to the next step.

    Tap on "Get Started" [はじめる].

  • 19

    A tutorial (animation) on how to operate will be displayed, followed by the top screen of the My au app.

    The registration of your au ID is now completed.

For your reference

  • The au ID password can be 8 to 32 long using half-width alphanumeric characters and symbols.

    Entering a date format with consecutive numbers or repeating the same number will result in an error.

    Allowed characters: a to z, A to Z

    Allowed numbers: 0 to 9

    Allowed symbols: ~, `, !, @, #, $, %, ^, &, *, (, ), -, _, +, =

    • On some devices, the symbols "&" and "=" cannot be used in the password.
    • It is mandatory to use both half-width letters and numbers.
    • The use of symbols is not mandatory but using them along with alphanumeric characters increases the strength of the password.
