Will my au ID change, if my au/UQ mobile contract is terminated? (in case of migration to other KDDI service, switching to another company (MNP), cancellation/transfer/ inheritance, etc.)

The au ID may or may not change, depending on the timing and details of the procedure.

Please see below for details.

  • This page provides information on cases where au IDs are not merged (one au ID has only one au/UQ mobile contract registered).

Regarding whether the au ID is changed or not for each procedure

Number Migration

There will be no change to the au ID for those who have migrated from au to UQ mobile/povo.

Switching to another company (MNP)

If your au ID was a mobile phone number type and you switched to another company (MNP) until August 17th, 2021.

It will change to au ID + Contract Termination Date by MNP (YYYYMMDD)

Example: If the Contract Termination Date by MNP is April 1st, 2021

au ID before switching to another company: 080XXXXXXXX

au ID after switching to another company: 080XXXXXXXX_20210401

If your au ID was a mobile phone number type and you switched to another company (MNP) from August 18th, 2021 onwards

If your au ID was other than a mobile phone number type

There will be no change to the au ID

The procedure for logging into My au for the first time after changing to au ID+_ (half-width underscore) + Contract Termination Date by MNP (YYYYMMDD) can be found here

Cancellation

If your au ID was a mobile phone number type, same phone number of the contract

au ID+_ (half-width underscore) + Cancellation Date (YYYYMMDD)

Example: Cancellation date is April 1st, 2021

au ID before cancellation: 080XXXXXXXX

au ID after cancellation: 080XXXXXXXX_20210401

If your au ID was other than a mobile phone number type

There will be no change to the au ID

The procedure for logging into My au for the first time after changing to au ID+_ (half-width underscore) + Contract Termination Date by MNP (YYYYMMDD) can be found here

Transfer/Inheritance

In case of transfer/inheritance where the au ID was the same as mobile phone number

au ID+_ Transfer/ Inheritance date (half-width underscore) + Cancellation Date (YYYYMMDD)

Example: If transfer/ inheritance date is on April 1st, 2021

au ID before transfer/ inheritance: 080XXXXXXXX

au ID after transfer/ inheritance: 080XXXXXXXX_20210401

If your au ID was other than a mobile phone number type

There will be no change to the au ID

Transfer within family

There will be no change to the au ID before and after the transfer within the family.

  • If au IDs are merged, a new au ID different from the previous one will be issued to the transferee.

Inheritance

In case of inheritance where the au ID was the same as mobile phone number

au ID+_ inheritance date (half-width underscore) + Cancellation Date (YYYYMMDD)

(Example) inheritance is April 1st, 2021

au ID before inheritance company: 080XXXXXXXX

au ID after inheritance: 080XXXXXXXX_20210401

If your au ID was other than a mobile phone number type

There will be no change to the au ID

Procedure for first time login to My au/My UQ mobile after changing the au ID

After changing to au ID+_ (half-width underscore) + Date of cancellation/transfer/inheritance (YYYYMMDD), log in with au ID+_ (half-width underscore) + Date of cancellation/transfer/inheritance (YYYYMMDD) and same password as before. At that time, you will proceed to change the au ID to an email type.

Once you have changed your au ID to an email address type, use the email address au ID and the same password as before for subsequent logins.

For the procedure to change to an email address type au ID, please see below.

  • This procedure is not necessary for those whose au ID has not changed.

    If you used au, please tap [here] and tap “Web Login” [ Webでログイン ] .
    If you used UQ mobile (5G compatible rate plan), please tap [here] and tap “Login with au ID” [ au IDでログイン] .
    • If you have been logged in from before cancelling your contract, please log out once.

    Enter the au ID+_(half-width underscore) + Date of cancellation (YYYYMMDD) and tap on “Next” [ 次へ ].

    Example: If you cancelled/transferred/inherited on April 1st, 2021, enter 080XXXXXXXX_20210401.

    Enter the same password as before and tap on “Log in” [ ログイン ].

  • 4

    Enter the email address to register as an au ID and tap on “Change au ID (agree to terms and conditions and send confirmation code）”  au IDを変更する[利用規約に同意し確認コードを送信].

    • If you had registered an email address for Contact email address 1 and Contact email address 2 before the cancellation/transfer/inheritance, you can select it as the email address to register as an au ID (if you want to register with another email address, select "Enter email address" [ メールアドレスを入力 ] and insert the email address of your preference).
  • 5

    A confirmation code will be sent to the email address entered in Step 4.

    Please check the confirmation code.

  • 6

    Enter the "confirmation code”  [ 確認コード ] sent to your email and tap on “Next” [ 次へ ].

  • 7

    Tap on “Change au ID and go to the next” [ au IDを変更して次へ ].

  • 8

    You have logged into My au／My UQ mobile.

    The procedure to change the au ID to an email type is completed.

    • From the next time onwards, please use your email address as your au and the same password as before.
