I would like to know how to reset my au ID password (I do not know my current au ID password)

You can reset your au ID password depending on the service you use.

For details, please refer to the information below.

Important notes

  • If you need to reset the au ID password for au/UQ mobile smartphones, tablets, or iPads, please turn off Wi-Fi and perform the operation from the mobile phone linked to your au ID.
  • You cannot reset it from a PC.

Steps

    Access the au ID password reset page.

    • You can also reset your password from "Click here if you forgot the password" [パスワードを忘れた方はこちら] while logged in.

    Enter your au ID and tap on "Next" [次へ].

    Enter your PIN and tap on "Next" [次へ].

    Enter your new password and tap on "Agree to the terms of service and reset" [利用規約に同意して再設定する].

    • You can use half-width alphanumeric characters and symbols for your password. Please set a password that contains 8 to 32 characters and includes both half-width alphanumeric characters.
    • If the confirmation code input screen appears, enter the 6-digit confirmation code you received and tap on "Next" [次へ].

    When the message "Password reset completed" [パスワードの再設定が完了しました] appears, the process is done.

    • Please make sure to keep a note of the reset password.

Customers with an active au Hikari/au Hikari Chura contract

I would like to know how to reset the au ID password (au Hikari)

Please check the initial au ID password listed in the "Service Start Guide" [ご利用開始のご案内] that was sent to you when you signed your contract.

If you are unable to confirm the initial password, please reset it using the steps below.

If you cannot confirm the initial au ID password

You can reset it from the au ID password reset page.

For customers with contracts for "Fixed-line Communication Services or City Gas for au" [固定通信サービス、都市ガス for au をご契約の方], please proceed through "Confirm au ID/Reset Password" [au IDの確認・パスワードの再設定].

Customers with an active au Denki contract

I would like to know how to reset my au ID password (au Denki)

Please refer to the "Service Start Guide" [ご利用開始のご案内] sent to you when you signed your contract to confirm your au ID and password. Once you log in, your registration will be completed.

If you cannot confirm the initial au ID password

For customers with contracts for "au Denki, Cable Plus Denki, Denki Service, or with HOME Service" [auでんき、ケーブルプラスでんき、でんきサービス、with HOMEサービスをご契約の方], please proceed through "Confirm au ID/Reset Password" [au IDの確認・パスワードの再設定].

For cases other than above
