Replacement phone delivery service
In the event of an incident with your au mobile phone, in general, a replacement mobile phone (a rejuvenated product including a battery pack) is directly delivered to you the day after you make a request online or by telephone. The service may be used two times a year. First use: ¥5,000 Second use: ¥8,000.
However, discounts can be applied to the service charge. Check the Repair and Delivery Support page for details.
With these services, when your smartphone or mobile phone malfunctions, you can leave it at an au shop or Toyota locations that carry au products for repair. The following three services are provided.
Recover data from an au mobile phone that can no longer be used due to exposure to water, damage, a broken screen, etc. This service can be used once a year.
Data that can be recovered: contacts, photos, videos
A successful data recovery costs ¥5,000 per use.

Request for compliance with regards to Internet use by minors
In accordance with laws and ordinances, young people under the age of 18 must in principal be subscribed to a filtering service that is set at time of purchase of the device before use. KDDI regards minors under the age of 20 as the eligible target.

When using the Internet, young people may encounter illegal or harmful content that can be have an adverse effect on their healthy growth, and they may become involved in criminal activities. In particular, the number of young people who are involved in trouble due to making contact with strangers on social media is increasing. They are in danger of not only being the victims of crimes, but may eventually become perpetrators themselves.
The use of filtering services can reduce the risks of young people coming in contact with harmful contents.

When you purchase a model specified by KDDI, you can subscribe to Upgrade Program EX by subscribing to New au Adjust Plan, au Adjust Plan, au Flat Plan, au Data MAX Plan, and selecting 24-month installment payments (installment contract).
This program allows you to switch models any time without paying the unpaid model price after the 26th month if you have used the model for 24 months. With this benefit, up to 50% of the installment payments can be waived.

If you subscribe to New au Adjust Plan, au Adjust Plan, au Flat Plan, au Data MAX Plan, and select payment by 24 monthly installments (installment contract) when you purchase an eligible model, you can subscribe to Upgrade Program EX (a). With this program, you can change to a new model at any time after using your current model for 12 months, and the remaining amount of payments for your device past the 14th month of use will be waived. This way, you no longer have to pay for up to half of the original installment amount.
Customers who subscribe to the Upgrade Program when purchasing an eligible model, and who purchase their phone through an installment contract (24 months), can change to a new model after 18 months of use, at which time any outstanding monthly payment balance for the previous device will be waived, based on factors such as the trade-in value of the previous model.
If you subscribe to the Upgrade Program at the same time you purchase an eligible model after April 1, 2016, and change the model between the 13th month and 18th month, an advance use fee of ¥2,000* will be charged. By paying this fee, a part of the outstanding monthly payment balance for the previous device (the payments for the seven months from the 19th month to 25th month) will be waived, based on factors such as the trade-in value of the previous model.

au Smart Pass Premium is a service that can be used for ¥499/month, and includes all the services offered by au Smart Pass, Data Recovery service, membership privileges that change depending on the day of the week, and other various unique services.
Select Pack is a service that can be used for ¥300/month (excluding tax) that includes select services for unlimited use, coupons and other member benefits, and repair fee support.
In order to use this service, a device compatible with au World Service is required.
Calling charges, SMS transmission charges, and data communication charges differ from domestic usage charges in Japan. Furthermore, discount services and flat-rate data services for domestic usage in Japan cannot be applied to this service.
