Data Charge rates

You can select the Data Charge quantity from 0.5GB and 1GB per time.

  • * If you select "Immediately" for the charge timing and charge, payment is completed at the moment you charge regardless of the remaining data amount or expiration date.
  • * If you select "Amount or expiration date" for the charge timing and charge, the charge is reserved. When the remaining purchased data amount falls under 1%, or the expiration date is reached, data is automatically charged.
  • * If you select "Expiration date" for the charge timing and charge, the charge is reserved. When the expiration date is reached, data is automatically charged.

Payment method

Data quantities are purchased using au Simple Payment. You can select one of the following payment methods. If combining with payment of usage fees, you need to enter your password when making a purchase. If paying by credit card, you need to enter the security code.

  • You can add the amount to the communication charges for the contracted line billed every month
  • You can pay by using points. Select full or partial payment. For partial payment, specify how many points you want to use.
Paying by credit card You can pay by the credit card registered to your au ID.

Validity period

If you have both monthly data quantity and purchased data quantity, the monthly data quantity is used first.

When recharging

The data quantity purchased using the Data Charge service has a validity period and it cannot be used after the validity period expires. Any data quantity from the first recharge not used up within the validity period can be combined with a second recharge quantity by making an additional purchase within the validity period. The validity period is also renewed, allowing continued use.

Even if the validity period has expired, if you purchase top-up data within 24 hours of expiration using Data Charge, the remaining data quantity will be revived and combined with the additional recharge quantity.

Inquiries

  • * If you complete the application procedure to commence the Data Charge service between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM, you can use the service immediately. If you apply at any other time, you can use the Data Charge service from 8:00 AM the next day. If you complete the procedures for a new contract, model change or additional terminal on the same day, you can use the Data Charge service from 8:00 AM the next day regardless of the time the application procedure is completed.
  • * An au ID is required to use the Data Charge service.
